Amplified teams usually have three to seven human members supported by highly customised software that allows them to communicate with one another — and with AI support systems — at an accelerated rate. Unlike other networked teams, most amplified teams work in the same vicinity in order to reduce lag and take advantage of non-verbal cues to increase trust and bandwidth. This helps develop heightened levels of 'team reasoning' and ‘limited collective utility’ maximisation.
However, there are hundreds of variations in how amplified teams can work. Larger teams of up to ten and even 15 members aren't unheard of, although co-ordination instability can be a problem. Some specialised teams are capable of working at great distances and high latency, with one or more remote members being light-seconds away.
